Our Terms and Conditions

All bookings with Tanzania Joy Tours are made subject to the terms and conditions outlined below. Any booking and subsequent contract are considered to be concluded in Arusha, Tanzania, and are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. The company reserves the right to accept or decline any booking at its discretion.

To confirm a reservation, a 30% deposit is required, which forms part of the total tour cost. The remaining balance must be paid at least four (4) weeks prior to departure. If full payment is not received within this period, the booking may be treated as cancelled and the deposit forfeited. For bookings made within four weeks of departure, full payment is required immediately. All bank charges must be covered by the client or agent, ensuring that the full invoiced amount is received by the company.

Amendments to bookings, such as changes in travel dates, accommodation, or number of participants, may incur a handling fee of $50 per booking, in addition to any costs charged by third-party service providers. All cancellations must be submitted in writing and will take effect from the date received. Cancellation fees apply as follows: 30% up to 4 weeks before departure, 50% between 4–2 weeks, 75% between 2–1 weeks, and 100% less than 1 week prior to departure. In rare cases where the company must cancel a tour due to unavoidable circumstances, all payments made will be refunded, but no additional claims can be made.

It is the responsibility of the traveler to ensure all required travel documents, including passports, visas, and health certificates, are valid and in order. The company is not liable for any issues arising from incomplete or incorrect documentation. Travelers are also responsible for their personal belongings throughout the trip. Baggage is limited to 15 kg per person (soft bags only) plus a daypack, and excess luggage may be refused, especially on trekking tours or light aircraft transfers.

All tours involve an element of adventure and personal risk. By booking, the client acknowledges and accepts these risks and agrees that Tanzania Joy Tours is not liable for injury, loss, or damage during the trip. The authority of the guide or driver during the tour is final, and all travelers must comply with local laws and regulations.

The company reserves the right to use photographs and videos taken during tours for marketing purposes unless otherwise requested. Additionally, Tanzania Joy Tours cannot be held responsible for delays or changes caused by unforeseen circumstances such as weather conditions, mechanical issues, or other force majeure events. Tour prices are based on current park fees and taxes and may be adjusted if there are changes imposed by authorities.
